Finding UberComfort Riders

This is a follow up as to why you should ONLY be accepting UberComfort pings. I understand, finding them can seem daunting, so here are a few tricks I use.

To find UberComfort riders, we must first understand what UberComfort is. Uber Comfort is a step above UberX, but not quite UberSelect; UberBlack. This is important to keep in mind because there is a certain demographic of people that you need to be on the look out for.

Probably the biggest thing about UberComfort is the fact that the rider has the option to ask for a quiet ride. So, ask youself: Who prefers a quiet ride? First and foremost, this is the business rider. They love quiet rides. Whether it is at the end of the a long day at the office (think Downtown, Galleria, Woodlands, Greenway Plaza) or a long day of travel (airport vs. buses), they want a quiet, comfortable ride.

What else is it about UberComfort that makes it appealing? The fact it is a newer, nicer car. Not those trashy beaters that UberX spits out right? Because of this, we have to look at people who are worried about how they look like in front of others. This can be a rider on a hot date, or someone who is truly worried about how they look coming out of a vehicle, like at a trendy club. Again, Galleria, Downtown, but more specifically, I would think of trendy dating spots, like River Oaks District (that new outdoor mall with high end shops and restaurants), Mastro’s steakhouse, etc.) I can not give away too much because that will piss off other drivers, but think of those places. For the ones who are not on a date but are going to one of those trendy nightclub spots, think of places like Cle, Spire, Aurora, Lumen Lounge. These are places that generate, “VIP” riders, and UberComfort is not very much different from VIP.

A general rule of thumb, don’t expect too many long trips (45+) from UberComfort riders. Most of them will live within the loop and will order UberComfort because it may only be a few dollars more. They are out there, but they will be few and far in between.
