STOLEN FOOD STAMP SUSPECT SOUGHT; CONSTABLE SEEKS PUBLIC ASSISTANCE IN IDENTIFYING WOMAN

(HOUSTON, TX) August 23, 2023 – Constable Ted Heap is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying a woman suspected of using a stolen Lone Star Card to fraudulently charge more than $400 to the victim’s account.

The incident occurred after the victim’s car was broken into on June 13th, in broad daylight while parked in the 9700 block of Braes Bayou Drive. Within an hour of the break-in, the stolen Lone Star Card was used to make fraudulent purchases at two different stores, amounting to hundreds of dollars.

Security cameras captured images of the suspect that evening, and she is described as a heavyset black female who was wearing a light pink dress with a black camisole and black shoes.

Authorities are urging anyone with information regarding the suspect’s identity or the incident to come forward. The theft of food stamp benefits and fraudulent use of such assistance has not only caused financial loss to the victim but undermines the integrity of a system designed to support those in need.

Community members who recognize the woman or have any relevant information are encouraged to contact the Constable’s office. Collaboration between law enforcement and the public is crucial in solving such cases and holding those responsible accountable for their actions.
