Suspect in Fatal Shooting at 3700 Tierwester Street Now in Custody

HOUSTON, TX – August 22, 2023 – A suspect wanted and charged in the fatal shooting of a man at 3700 Tierwester Street around 12:40 p.m. on August 17, 2023, is now in custody.

The suspect, Edward Domon Brown, 44, has been charged with murder in the 183rd State District Court. Following his arrest, Brown was also charged with felon in possession of a weapon and possession of a controlled substance in the same court.

Brown is accused of killing Horatio Rodriguez Harris, 37. Houston Police Department (HPD) patrol officers responded to the shooting at the location and found Harris unresponsive with multiple gunshot wounds. Houston Fire Department paramedics pronounced him deceased at the scene. The suspect fled in a white vehicle immediately after the shooting.

A preliminary investigation indicated that Harris and the suspect knew each other and had recent arguments. Further investigation identified Brown as the suspect in this case, leading to charges filed against him on August 19.

On August 22, Brown was arrested during a traffic stop by HPD’s Northeast Patrol Division officers. He was found in possession of a stolen gun and a controlled substance. Two additional felony charges were filed against Brown after consultation with the Harris County District Attorney’s Office. The investigation remains ongoing.
