Spring Firefighter Helps Halt Back 40 Fire Near Ancestral Home, Treated to Home-Cooked Boudin

(SPRING, TX, Aug. 31, 2023) – Spring firefighter Louis Rougeou was deployed to his home state of Louisiana to battle the Back 40 Fire. The strike team successfully contained the fire less than a mile from Rougeou’s great-grandparents’ home and gravesite, located on Rougeou Rd.

Subsequently, Rougeou’s mother arrived at the scene with homemade Boudin, a Louisiana specialty, to feed the fatigued firefighters. The act underscored the vital role of community and family support in emergency response efforts.
