Houston Police Await Autopsy Results After Discovery of Decomposed Body

HOUSTON, TEXAS, September 5, 2023 – The Houston Police Department is awaiting autopsy results to determine the identity, gender, and cause of death of a body found at 11614 Southwest Freeway last Friday, September 1. HPD Homicide Division Detectives M. Barton and A. Ledford reported that the remains were discovered by a surveyor mapping the property. The surveyor found human skeletal remains inside an abandoned camper trailer missing its front side and subsequently called 9-1-1. The body was in an advanced state of decomposition. The investigation is pending the results of the autopsy by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
