Austin Police Investigating Homicide at SoCo Park Apartments

AUSTIN, TX, Sept 21, 2023 – The Austin Police Department (APD) is investigating a homicide that took place at the SoCo Park Apartments, located at 7201 S Congress Ave. Officers were dispatched to the scene around 5:33 PM following a shoot/stab hotshot call. The caller indicated that her boyfriend and another man were involved in a verbal altercation, which escalated when the other man shot her boyfriend.

Upon arrival, officers found a victim with a gunshot wound. Although officers attempted life-saving measures, Austin-Travis County Emergency Medical Services (ATCEMS) medics pronounced the victim deceased at the scene. The suspect, who had initially fled on foot, was located within the apartment complex and taken into custody minutes later. The investigation is ongoing.
