Suspect Arrested and Charged in Stabbing on East Freeway

A suspect has been apprehended and charged in connection with a stabbing incident that occurred on Wednesday, July 26, at 12600 East Freeway (East Interstate Highway 10).

Edward Navarro, 35, has been arrested and charged with two counts of aggravated robbery with a deadly weapon in the 338th State District Court.

The victim, a 51-year-old male, was transported to a local area hospital in a stable condition after being stabbed several times while attempting to prevent a theft that took place at a restaurant at 1094 Federal Road.

Police initially responded to a stabbing at the indicated address and provided medical assistance to the victim until Houston Fire Department paramedics arrived at the scene. The suspect had fled on foot in an unknown direction.

On Saturday, members of the Houston Metro Police Department detained Navarro and contacted investigators. Navarro confessed to his involvement in the incident and was subsequently charged.
