Fatal Crash Leads to Charges Against Driver; Suspect at Large

HOUSTON, TEXAS, August 21, 2023 – A tragic accident occurred on Saturday, August 19, 2023, resulting in two deaths, including an infant girl, and leaving Jose Antonio Vazquez-Gonzalez, 30, charged with Fail to Stop and Render Aid – Death and Fail to Stop and Render Aid – Serious Bodily Injury.

Vazquez-Gonzalez was operating a 2012 Chevrolet Silverado, allegedly over the posted speed limit, when he collided with a 2020 Ram 1500 driven by 31-year-old Juan Loredo. Loredo was ejected from the vehicle and later succumbed to his injuries at a local hospital. A 28-year-old female passenger and three children were also transported to local hospitals, with the 2-month-old infant girl later dying from her injuries.
