Investigation Ongoing in Hit-and-Run Fatal Crash on Martin Luther King Boulevard

HOUSTON, TX, August 20, 2023 – Houston police are actively investigating a hit-and-run fatal crash that occurred at 9400 Martin Luther King Boulevard around 8 p.m. on Sunday.

The identity of the deceased male victim, 55, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

According to the investigation, the man was on or near the sidewalk at the above address when he was struck by a white Chevrolet Impala traveling southbound on Martin Luther King Boulevard. The man was pronounced deceased by responding Houston Fire Department paramedics.

The Impala was disabled due to the crash and abandoned at the scene. The driver of the Impala removed the temporary license plate from his vehicle and fled the scene in another vehicle of unknown make or model.
