Houston Police Investigating Apparent Fatal Shooting at 9719 Bertwood Street

HOUSTON, TX – August 22, 2023 – Houston police are investigating the apparent fatal shooting of a 54-year-old man at 9719 Bertwood Street. The incident occurred around 7:30 a.m. on Tuesday.

The identity of the deceased male is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Homicide Division officers responded to a report of a deceased male at the residence at the specified address. Upon arrival, they found the homeowner suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Responding Houston Fire Department paramedics pronounced him dead at the scene.

Currently, there are no known suspects or motives in the case.
