Houston Police Investigate Fatal Hit-and-Run on Eastex Freeway

HOUSTON, TX – August 24, 2023: Houston Police are actively investigating a fatal hit-and-run crash that occurred at 8600 Eastex Freeway (North U.S. Highway 59) around 1:15 a.m.

Upon arrival at the scene, officers discovered a deceased person in the northbound lanes of the freeway. The identity of the deceased is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences. Paramedics pronounced the individual deceased on the scene.

The body was dismembered after being struck by multiple vehicles, and the gender of the victim is not known. No drivers stopped to render aid.
