Level 3 Evacuation Order Issued in Kaanapali, Hawaii, Due to Approaching Brush Fire

KAANAPALI, HAWAII, AUGUST 26, 2023 – Emergency sirens blared today as the Maui Emergency Management Agency issued a Level 3 evacuation order for residents in Kaanapali, West Maui, due to an approaching brush fire. Multiple firefighting units are on the scene to combat the blaze, which is occurring less than five miles north of Lahaina.

Authorities are advising all residents to evacuate immediately and to stay clear of the affected area until further notice.
