Former Alameda County Deputy Suspended as California Peace Officer Following Accusations of Excessive Force

DUBLIN, CA, August 28, 2023 – Troy Hershel White, a former deputy with the Alameda County Sheriff’s Office, has been temporarily suspended as a California peace officer by the Commission on Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) as of August 28, 2023. White was previously terminated from his position with the sheriff’s office after being accused of physical abuse and the use of unreasonable or excessive force against an inmate in administrative segregation at the Santa Rita Jail in Dublin.

The suspension by POST is pending further investigation into the allegations.
