Man Arrested for Discharging Firearm at Individuals on ATVs in Colchester County

August 27, 2023 – Little Dyke, Colchester County, NS – At approximately 7 p.m., officers from the Colchester County District RCMP responded to a report of a man firing a weapon at three individuals riding ATVs near Glenholme Marsh Rd. in Little Dyke. The victims, an 18-year-old male from Little Dyke, a 16-year-old male youth, and a 15-year-old male youth, reported that a man emerged from a residence and fired a gun in their direction. As they fled the area on their ATVs, the man fired his weapon at them a second time. No injuries were reported in the incident.

Upon arrival, RCMP officers secured the perimeter around the residence on Glenholme Marsh Rd. and made contact with the suspect via phone. After confirming the suspect was the sole occupant of the home, officers instructed him to exit with his hands raised. The suspect complied and was safely taken into custody.

The man was held in custody overnight and is scheduled to appear in Truro Provincial Court today. He faces multiple firearms-related charges, including Discharging a Firearm. A search warrant was executed at the residence, leading to the seizure of a firearm and ammunition. The investigation is ongoing.
