Suspect Linked to Oil Field Thefts Captured in Joint Operation with Brazoria County Sheriff’s Office and Pearland Police Drone Division

August 26, 2023 – Brazoria County, TX – Deputies from the Brazoria County Sheriff’s Office responded to a vehicle crash on County Road 128, discovering an abandoned Ford F-250 loaded with stolen wire rolls. This evidence was quickly tied to a string of recent oil field thefts in the area.

In a collaborative effort, deputies enlisted the assistance of the Pearland Police Department’s Drone Division to locate and apprehend the suspect. Jason Roff, 40, was subsequently captured and is now in custody.

The Brazoria County Sheriff’s Office expressed gratitude towards the Pearland Police Department for their continued partnership and support in law enforcement operations.
