Update: Indictment and Arrest in Homicide Investigation of 19-Year-Old Baytown Resident

August 28, 2023 – Chambers County, TX – Following the murder of 19-year-old Gregory Galomo, which took place on August 13, 2023, in the 2400 block of Sweet Bay Drive, a Chambers County Grand Jury returned a true bill of indictment last Thursday. Rolando San Miguel, 20, has been indicted on charges of Murder and Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon.

The Chambers County Sheriff’s Office Detectives have been working relentlessly on the case, conducting over 15 witness interviews, securing multiple search warrants, and sifting through extensive evidence to build a compelling case for the Grand Jury.

Earlier today, the suspect, Rolando San Miguel, was located and arrested in Houston. The operation involved coordinated efforts between Chambers County Sheriff’s Deputies and Detectives, the US Marshal’s Gulf Coast Violent Offenders Task Force, and the Houston Police Department.

Sheriff Brian Hawthorne expressed gratitude towards the diligence of the investigators, stating, “I am thankful for the dedicated work of our Detectives in securing an indictment in this senseless killing. We can now pray for justice for Gregory and peace for his family in this trying time.”
