Authorities Seeking Information on Fatal Hit-and-Run Incident in West Harris County

WEST HARRIS COUNTY, TX, August 30, 2023 – Authorities are asking for the public’s assistance in locating a vehicle and identifying the driver involved in a fatal auto/pedestrian crash that took place on Monday, August 28, 2023.

At approximately 11:22 p.m., the suspect was operating an unknown color, 2008 Ford Edge and was traveling southbound in the 900 block of S. Mason Road in the outside lane. The victim, identified as Juan Gutierrez, was also traveling southbound on a bicycle in the same block when the suspect’s vehicle struck him. Gutierrez succumbed to his injuries at the scene.

The suspect failed to stop and render aid to the victim and fled the scene. The vehicle is described as a 2008 Ford Edge of an unknown color, sustaining damage to its front right side and missing the passenger’s side mirror.

Law enforcement agencies are urging anyone with information to come forward.
