Illegal Game Room Raided, Over $6,000 Seized in Suspected Gambling Proceeds

(TOMBALL, Texas, August 31, 2023) – Investigators with Constable Mark Herman’s Criminal Investigations Division executed a search warrant on August 30, 2023, at a business in the 24800 block of Kuykendahl Rd. The operation was conducted in response to complaints about illegal gambling activities at Mike Food Store.

Following tips about such activities, undercover investigators confirmed that illegal gambling was, in fact, taking place within the establishment. The raid led to the seizure of over $6,000 in suspected gambling proceeds, numerous illegal gambling devices, and documentation supporting illicit gambling operations.

Aslampervez Ali, an employee of the business, was arrested and charged with Possession of Gambling Device/Equipment/Paraphernalia and Keeping a Gambling Place. He has been booked into the Harris County Jail and was granted a $5,000 bond out of County Court 11.

Illegal gambling establishments are often hotspots for more severe criminal activities, thereby jeopardizing public safety. These businesses are not regulated by the state, leaving patrons without a fair chance at winning.
