Update: Woman Involved in High-Speed Pursuit After Attempted Bank Fraud Safely Apprehended

(SHENANDOAH, TX, Aug. 30, 2023) – Shenandoah Police Department (SHPD) officers received a report of a woman attempting to cash a stolen check with a stolen driver’s license and debit card at a local bank on Research Forest. Upon locating the suspect, a high-speed pursuit ensued, leading units into Houston and lasting nearly an hour.

Multiple agencies, including Harris County Sheriff’s Office, Oak Ridge North Police Department, Constable Ryan Gable of Precinct 3 in Montgomery County, Houston Police Department, and Mark Herman, Harris County Constable Precinct 4, assisted SHPD in the pursuit. Officer Duenas and his K9 partner Maui also contributed to the effort.

The suspect was ultimately and safely apprehended. She has been booked into Montgomery County Jail, facing two felony charges and was already wanted on two existing felony warrants.

The SHPD extends its gratitude to all assisting agencies, underscoring that teamwork was instrumental in the successful resolution of this incident.
