Commercial Vehicle Fire Leads to Grass Fire on Ella Blvd; Quickly Contained by Northwest VFD

HARRIS COUNTY, Texas, Sept. 1, 2023 — The Northwest Volunteer Fire Department responded to a commercial vehicle fire involving a garbage truck. Before firefighters arrived, the driver dumped the trash in the middle of Ella Blvd., which sparked a grass fire. The fire was quickly contained. The responsible company dispatched a cleanup crew, and the trash was removed from the roadway and adjacent right-of-ways.
