Shooting at Skyline High School in Oakland; Suspect in Custody, Lockdown in Place

OAKLAND, CA, September 5, 2023 – A shooting occurred today at Skyline High School, according to the school’s Vice Principal. The suspect is currently in custody, and a lockdown has been implemented as the Oakland Police Department conducts a thorough sweep of the campus. The California Highway Patrol is also present at the scene. Students will be released once an all-clear is given. The situation is ongoing and updates will be provided as they become available.
