Texas A&M Forest Service Assists with Shaw Fire in Refugio County
REFUGIO COUNTY, TEXAS, September 15, 2023 – The Texas A&M Forest Service is currently assisting with efforts to contain the Shaw Fire, which is affecting parts of Refugio County.
The blaze, which has so far engulfed an estimated 250 acres, is reported to be 50% contained at present. The Texas A&M Forest Service has responded promptly to a request for aid in handling the wildfire.
Officials have yet to release further details on the firefighting strategies being employed, or on any potential evacuations in the areas immediately surrounding the fire.
