Hendersonville Man Arrested for Alleged Threats of Mass School Shooting

MURFREESBORO, Tenn.– A Hendersonville man has been arrested and charged with allegedly making threats of mass violence to shoot a school.

The Murfreesboro Police Department (MPD) reported that 23-year-old Landon Brassfield allegedly made the threat to his co-workers at a Murfreesboro business this week, prompting an investigation.

The Hendersonville Police Department (HPD) arrested Brassfield after MPD asked detectives to investigate the threat. Upon searching his home, police discovered a 9mm handgun in his car. The handgun was reportedly purchased two days before Brassfield made the threats at his job at Rooms To Go on Medical Center Parkway.

MPD has served a warrant charging Brassfield with threats of mass violence. Brassfield is scheduled to appear in court for this charge on July 31.
