Update on the Powder Keg Pine Fire in Bastrop County from the Texas A&M Forest Service

The Texas A&M Forest Service reports that the #PowderKegPineFire, a wildfire currently raging in Bastrop County, is still estimated to cover 100 acres and is 50% contained.

The local emergency management authority, @BastropCntyOEM, has lifted the evacuation orders that were previously in place. The westbound SH 71 highway has been reopened, though the public is advised to stay updated as the situation could change quickly.

Firefighters are persistently working across the affected areas, focusing on containing and extinguishing the blaze. Vegetation within the fire’s perimeter continues to burn, contributing to the ongoing challenge.
