Accidental Electrical Fire Causes $150,000 Damage at TheRoundUp Bar in South Acres

HOUSTON, TX, August 15, 2023 – A bar fire in the South Acres / Crestmont Park area at 4799 Almeda Genoa Rd. has resulted in an estimated $150,000 in damage. The fire, which occurred on August 15, 2023, at 2:11 a.m., was ruled accidental (electrical) by HFD Arson investigators.

Upon arrival, firefighters discovered smoke coming from TheRoundUp Bar and encountered high heat after forcing entry. A primary search was completed, and the fire was extinguished. An estimated $62,000 in property was saved, and no injuries were reported.

A total of 47 personnel were dispatched to the incident, including crews from Stations 15, 26, 35, 47, 55, 61, 36, 24, Rescue 42, and Rehab 8. The situation is under control, and the establishment will undergo necessary repairs.

The fire at TheRoundUp Bar follows a tragic incident that occurred at the same location on Saturday, August 12, 2023, where three people were shot, including a pregnant woman, resulting in one fatality. Authorities are not indicating any connection between the shooting and the fire at this time.
