Constables Arrest Suspect for Injury to a Child After Assault

CYPRESS, TX, August 17, 2023 – Deputies with Constable Mark Herman’s Office responded to a disturbance call in the 14100 block of Cypress N. Houston Road and discovered a situation involving an assault on a 13-year-old juvenile.

The complainant reported being assaulted by a known suspect, identified as Chelerica Perry. The investigation further revealed that Perry bit the juvenile male, causing visible injury and pain.

Child Protection Services (CPS) were already present at the location, investigating a separate incident. The children were released to a guardian who arrived at the scene.

Chelerica Perry was arrested and charged with Injury to a Child. She has been booked into the Harris County Jail. As of the report’s release, bond and court information have not yet been set.
