Driver Arrested for Discharging Firearm During Road Rage Incident

HOUSTON, TX, August 19, 2023 – A road rage incident on the 100 block of North Sam Houston Parkway West escalated to violence when the driver of an 18-wheeler, identified as Javier Cardenas, allegedly discharged a firearm at another driver.

According to deputies with Constable Mark Herman’s Office, the complainant reported that Cardenas had cut him off, nearly causing a crash. During the altercation that followed, Cardenas allegedly fired two rounds at the victim, striking his vehicle. The firearm was recovered at the scene.

Javier Cardenas was subsequently arrested and booked into the Harris County Jail, charged with Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon. Details regarding his bond and court information have not been released at this time.
