Boil Water Notice Issued for City of Fulshear’s Downtown Water System
FULSHEAR, TEXAS, August 21, 2023 – A boil water notice has been issued for the City of Fulshear’s Downtown Water System following a drop in water pressure below the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality’s required minimum of 20 PSI on the morning of August 21, 2023.
The drop in pressure was due to an unexpected electrical issue impacting one of the wells at the Downtown Water System Plant, an issue unrelated to previous demand problems. The City’s utility contractor, Inframark, began work to restore water, and the system is now functioning at normal operating pressure.
Water has been restored to residents in the affected areas, but a boil water advisory will remain in effect until further notice. The advisory includes the following neighborhoods: Polo Ranch, Del Webb, Downtown Fulshear, Fulshear Lakes, Pecan Ridge, Fulshear Run, Tamarron West, and Fulbrook on Fulshear Creek.
Schools affected include Huggins Elementary School, Morgan Elementary School, Leaman Junior High School, Fulshear High School, and Roberts Middle School. Residents should refer to their school district for more information.
The City’s Public Works Department is working diligently to restore safe drinking water quality and will provide further updates on this matter as more information becomes available. More details can be found on the City’s website at fulsheartexas.gov.
