Body of Missing Boater Recovered in Trinity Bay, Authorities Await Identification

Trinity Bay, TX, August 27, 2023 – The U.S. Coast Guard and the Chambers County Sheriff’s Office Marine Unit announced the recovery of a body in Trinity Bay on Saturday. The body is believed to be that of a boater who went missing after setting off from the Clear Lake area on Friday.

According to officials, a search was initiated when the individual failed to return. The missing man’s boat was subsequently located in West Trinity Bay. The body, matching the description of the missing boater, was recovered in northwest Trinity Bay shortly thereafter.

Authorities have yet to release the name of the missing individual. An autopsy is currently underway to confirm the identity of the body. Officials have not confirmed whether the boater was wearing a life preserver when he went overboard.
