Cumberland County District RCMP Investigates ATM Theft and Destroyed Truck in Springhill

August 27, 2023 – Cumberland County District RCMP is actively investigating the theft of an Automated Teller Machine (ATM) from a business on McGee St. in Springhill. At approximately 4 a.m., police responded to an intrusion alarm at the business. Upon arrival, officers discovered that a truck had been used to extract the ATM from the establishment before fleeing the scene.

In a subsequent development, RCMP officers located the truck used in the theft approximately 500 meters away from the break-in location. The truck was found completely destroyed by fire.

The investigation into the incident is ongoing. Authorities are urging anyone with information related to the theft or the destroyed truck to contact the Cumberland County District RCMP at 902-597-3779.
