Houston Police Await Autopsy Results in Death of Woman Found at 1700 Runnels Street

HOUSTON, TEXAS, August 26, 2023 – Houston police are awaiting autopsy results following the discovery of a deceased woman at 1700 Runnels Street around 9:15 a.m. on Saturday, August 26. The identity and cause of death of the woman, estimated to be between 30 to 40 years old, are pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

According to the HPD Homicide Division, patrol officers responded to a report of a deceased individual at the mentioned address. A witness directed the officers to the body of the unresponsive woman. Paramedics from the Houston Fire Department arrived at the scene and pronounced the woman deceased.

No obvious signs of trauma were visible on the body. The investigation into the cause of death is pending, awaiting the results of an autopsy.
