LEAGUE CITY, Texas, Aug. 29, 2023 – Local media outlet i45NOW took issue with being excluded from a recent press conference concerning a violent street brawl in League City’s Star Point neighborhood. The press event, organized by Grizzys Hood News and Dr. Candice Matthews, included other local media outlets such as KHOU Ch. 11 and Fox26, contradicting i45NOW’s assertion that local news agencies were not informed.

The press conference was called to discuss a brawl that took place on Aug. 12, during an end-of-summer party. The fight led to three teens being injured, prompting Houston activist Candace Mathews to call for immediate charges. Despite the gravity of the incident, i45NOW’s main point of contention was its exclusion from the media event.
