Lynchburg Police Department Continues Search for Missing Woman, Avriel Hooks

LYNCHBURG, Va., Aug. 29, 2023 – The Lynchburg Police Department (LPD) is continuing its search for Avriel Hooks, who was last seen by her family on Aug. 22, 2023, around 8 p.m. Hooks was officially reported missing the next day. Despite continuous efforts to locate her, Hooks remains missing, and her lack of communication with her family has raised concerns.

LPD detectives, with assistance from the Virginia Department of Emergency Management, searched an area in Lynchburg on Aug. 27, 2023, where Hooks frequently traveled. At this time, her whereabouts remain unknown. LPD has maintained constant communication with the Hooks family and is utilizing all available resources in the investigation.

Avriel Hooks is described as a white female, approximately 5 feet 5 inches tall, with dyed red hair and blue eyes. She was last seen wearing black leggings, a black tank top, and pink nail polish.
