Family Appeals for Witnesses Following Hit-and-Run Incident on Hwy 73
PORT ARTHUR, Texas, Aug. 28, 2023 – A family is urgently seeking information following a hit-and-run incident that took place in the early morning hours of Aug. 28, 2023, on Hwy 73 near Port Arthur. The victim, who was driving a truck, sustained serious injuries and is currently in the hospital undergoing treatment for multiple broken bones, spinal damage, and other injuries requiring surgery.
According to family members, the vehicle that caused the collision was possibly a red or maroon Charger. The incident occurred around 5:30 a.m., just past a gas station and near the Zachry parking lot where buses pick up workers heading to the refinery. The hit-and-run driver reportedly cut off the victim’s truck, resulting in a collision that flipped the truck multiple times. The driver then left the scene without stopping to check on the victim.
