National Weather Service Confirms Tornado in Goose Creek, South Carolina; Car Flipped and Two Injured
(GOOSE CREEK, SC, Aug. 30, 2023) – A small tornado touched down in Goose Creek, South Carolina, on Wednesday afternoon, tossing a car into the air and flipping it over. The tornado was confirmed by the National Weather Service (NWS) and occurred as Hurricane Idalia spawned a few brief and weak tornados in the area.
The dramatic event was captured on video as the tornado passed through an intersection. Local police reported that two individuals were in the car at the time and were transported to the hospital with minor injuries.
