Houston Police Search for Two Suspects Charged in June 30 Shooting on Gulf Freeway Service Road

HOUSTON, Texas, Sept. 1, 2023 — Houston Police are searching for two suspects, Cristobal Banda, 22, and Jordan Christopher Perez, 31, charged in the shooting of two men at 9261 Gulf Freeway (South Interstate Highway 45) service road around 4 a.m. on June 30. Banda is charged with two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon in the 248th State District Court, and Perez is similarly charged in the 183rd State District Court.

Officers from the HPD Major Assaults & Family Violence Division reported that both male victims, aged 33 and 26, had been struck by gunfire following an argument in a parking lot at the cited address. Witnesses indicated that the suspects began firing shots at the victims before fleeing the scene. Both victims were transported to an area hospital in stable condition.

Further investigation led to the identification of the suspects as Banda and Perez. On Tuesday, Aug. 29, both men were charged for their roles in the shootings but remain at large.
