Fatal Motorcycle Crash on Westheimer Road Under Investigation

HOUSTON, TX, Sept. 7, 2023 – Houston police are investigating a fatal crash that occurred at 10700 Westheimer Road around 11:35 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 6, 2023.

According to reports from the HPD Vehicular Crimes Division, a 23-year-old motorcyclist, whose identity is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences, collided with a trailer being pulled by a Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck.

The tragic incident unfolded as the motorcyclist was traveling westbound on a grey Kawasaki motorcycle at the mentioned address. At the same time, the Chevrolet, moving eastbound on Westheimer Road, made a left turn into a parking lot. During the turn, the trailer extended into the motorcycle’s lane, leading to the fatal collision.

The Houston Fire Department paramedics rushed to the scene, transporting the critically injured motorcyclist to the Memorial Hermann-Texas Medical Center. Despite the efforts of the medical team, the individual was pronounced dead at the hospital.

The driver of the Chevrolet remained at the crash site, cooperating with the authorities. Preliminary assessments showed no signs of intoxication. After being questioned, the driver was released.
