Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office Mourns the Loss of Detective John Castillo

FORT BEND COUNTY, TX, SEPTEMBER 7, 2023 – The law enforcement community is mourning the loss of one of their own today, Detective John Castillo of the Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office.

John Castillo embarked on his law enforcement journey in 2007, serving as a civilian jailer with the City of Rosenberg. In the span of his career, Castillo forged numerous friendships and left a lasting imprint through his dedication and service. In 2011, he transitioned to the Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office, yet maintained close ties with his former colleagues, collaborating on various investigations and serving as a member of the Fort Bend County Westside SWAT team.

The news of his passing has left his colleagues at both the Rosenberg Police Department and the Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office grappling with a profound loss. Both agencies remember him as a diligent officer who upheld the values of the law enforcement community with integrity and commitment.

The Rosenberg Police Department extends its deepest sympathies to Detective Castillo’s family, friends, and his brethren at the Sheriff’s Office during this time of mourning. In a heartfelt message, they offered words of condolence, stating, “Rest easy, we’ll take it from here.”
