Charges Filed Against Two Suspects Wanted in Stabbing of Man at 11054 Briar Forest Drive

HOUSTON, TEXAS, August 20 – Two suspects, Maria Moore Cheeks, 52, and Anthony Lee White, 56, have been charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon in connection with the stabbing of John Lee Hollins III, 52, at 11054 Briar Forest Drive around 4:25 p.m. last Friday, August 18. Previous booking photos of both suspects have been released, and they are not in custody.

Officers responded to a report of a cutting at a gas station at the above address and found Mr. Hollins suffering multiple stab wounds. Responding Houston Fire Department paramedics transported him to an area hospital, where he remains in stable condition.

Further investigation revealed that Hollins was stabbed by his roommate, Cheeks, and her boyfriend, White, during an argument near the gas station. Hollins had accused Cheeks of stealing his check, prompting both Cheeks and White to attack him with a knife and brass knuckles. The suspects then fled in a red sedan.

Both Cheeks and White remain at large.
